I agree I disagreeCategoria: Big show
The Palio dea Caretera de Marostega is an event that brings together all the hamlets of Marostica for a unique experience and traditionally takes place on the second Sunday of June.
This is a race from the Upper Castle to the Lower Castle with "careti", a sort of karts made of local wood, created in 1956.
The idea of a race with "careti", then called "Caretera Marostegana" was born in the post-war years (1956) within the Marostica university club that proposed the challenge between the most famous leaders of the Marostica countryside driving a military tank at high speed on the downhill route from the Upper Castle (224 m above sea level) to the Lower Castle (100 m above sea level), crossing the Roveredo valley. Over the years the same route of a total of 2000 meters was confirmed.
The "careto" a kart made of local wood was chosen for the challenge, consisting of three longitudinal axles, two transverse axles, one as a rudder, controlled with a string fixed at the ends, with four wooden wheels covered with rubber.
Now the "careti" have evolved and there are various types, even very equipped ones.
