To live in Palazzo Torresino and church of Saint Anna

PALAZZO TORRESINO

Commissioned by the physician-physician Sebastiano Torresino, the palazzo was subsequently owned by a number of noble families: Perli, Remondini, Carli, Negri, Dolfin to name but a few.
Two façades of the imposing architectural structure, which dates back to about 1660, are decorated with Venetian windows and tympanums. On the gateposts there are two statues: the Allegory of Medicine on the right, Asclepius on the left with a scroll that says "Medicina monumentum meum est". During the First World War the building was requisitioned and used as a military hospital.

CHURCH OF SANT'ANNA

A small church dedicated to St. Anne, the mother of the Virgin Mary, stands next to Palazzo Torresino. Built in 1689, it was embellished and completed in 1693 by Bartolomeo Perli. Of considerable importance above the altar is a sculpture in white Carrara marble depicting St. Anne with a child, the Virgin Mary, in her arms, considered to be by Orazio Marinali. Currently the church can only be seen from the outside.
